Learning from our pets: balance and attention

I love the way a cat lives its life. It has perfect balance - or should that be purr-fect....sorry couldn't resist.

It knows when to eat, when to sleep, when to play, when to stretch.

It also has a focused laser attention span when it sees something it wants. It focuses it's attention, it sits and waits, then it starts to move into position - never, ever taking its focus from what it has seen and wants. And then - when the time is absolutely right, it POUNCES.

Sometimes, it gets it right and sometimes of course it completely misses the mark. But - do you think the cat gets upset by the failures? Not at all. It shakes off the failure and starts the process again.

You would think as human beings we would be able to achieve more than a cat...but as far as setting and achieving goals and shaking off the disappointment when it doesn't quite work - I think we have a lot to learn.

With many thoughts
Elle
