Post it notes or wall sized billboards

When it comes to writing down your goals - a wall sized billboard is better than a post it note.

Goals should be front of mind, front of desk and not stored in a drawer.

When your goals are wall sized you can hardly miss them. They scream at you - hey - work on me, I need to be finished. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STOP WATCHING THE TELEVISION AND DO SOMETHING?

Wall sized billboards are like that - they're loud, they're obvious and they're not going to let you get away without doing something about them. Whereas goals wriiten on scraps of paper, backs of envelopes and inside journals can be lost, can be put away and can be forgotten about.

How do you get wall sized billboards? Well there are many ways - but the best one i've found is this:

If your goal does not excite you, does not inspire you or motivate you to do something - then it's not YOUR goal, and it doesn't matter what size the letters are - you're not going to work on them - no matter what. So, get out your goal list - and decide if your list of goals for this year - bear in mind we have just over 6 months left of this year to go - and ask yourself some honest questions.

The Daily Dose of Motivational Medicine is my wall sized billboard - every day I need to come up with new ways to inspire you, prod you, cajole you. It is always front of mind and it is certainly front of desk - every day.

Do you have a wall sized billboard?

I can relate to this, I just finished 2 graduate courses and i was procrastinating so much..I now think i was not inspired..i will reassess what my next job will be...I'll try a different position in nursing rather that go into social work..to get a MSW would be alot of $$ and a 15 thousand pay cut..That is definitely not inspiring

bcause you can, and because you "got away with it" before, the grades you got were probably ok. In other words - unless there is a real reason to change, you won't...right Elle.

We see the same sorts of things - trying to help students with homework planners and the like, but it all comes down to you and how much you want it in the end.

Next time - start early
Cheers
