The real purpose of to-do lists
The real purpose of a to-do list isn't to see how much you can get through in any one day. But to see what shouldn't be on there at all.
To do lists are a great way of organising one's thoughts and need to be written down to be effective. But once they're on paper, you can see most of the items for what they are - just stuff that needs doing - but not necessarily by you.
Get rid of the things that are stopping you from achieving your goals and dreams.
Or is that the problem? Do you like hiding behind "stuff" so it stops you from doing the important things?

I am afraid that perhaps I do "like" to hide behind "stuff" at times. Any words of wisdom to let the "stuff" go?
Thanks,
Curtis
It takes practice, but once you have identified you are hiding behind "stuff" it's usually easier to say - OK, I know I am wasting time on things that do not need to be done - but it's my choice to do them anyway. Over time as you create the new habit of conscious decision - you will stop.
All the best
