If in doubt, focus on the three keys to success

If in doubt - focus on three things:

* Distinction
* Excellence and
* Service

Distinction:
* What makes you different from everyone else?
* Why is that a good thing?

Most people haven't grasped the concept of niche. Niche means you know exactly who your market is and who you want / need / desire to serve. Believe it or not, you cannot be all things to all people all of the time (if at all). Take Motivate Me as a great example. You would think that Motivation would be easy - most people at some point in their lives need a little bit of help to get started on goals and projects. But Motivate Me has many different categories - people need motivation in many different areas of their lives - be it weight loss, exercise, geting on at school or work. They may even need to know how to motivate others - especially the younger generation. Which is why these daily e-zines cover such a wide variety of topics. Whilst some aspects can be translated across all areas, some ARE unique.

Excellence:
Do everything you do - excellently. Don't do things half-heartedly or because you think you should. Do it and do it well and you will succeed faster than most everyone else. Most people are content with doing just enough, few people go above and beyond. Be one of the ones who do. Believe me, people will notice and they will start sending other people your way.

Service:
This one should be imprinted on everyone's forehead - and in everyone's mind. It is the most important part (IMHO) of being in business. You may do things excellently - but if you are constantly telling your clients something will be ready soon and several weeks later it still hasn't turned up - it doesn't matter if the work was excellent, all they will remember is the poor customer service.

These three things provide the basis for everything we say and do. So if you are ever in any doubt about what to do - remember the three keys to success.
