Finding ways to stay motivated

We all know how easy it is to be motivated when we're feeling good about life, the universe and everything - including ourselves. When we feel good, we know we can achieve anything and everything we put our minds to. But sometimes it can be difficult to get to that point. So here are a few suggestions to keep yourself in a good state of mind and body, so that you can roll through the "bad" times and onto the good - more easily and more frequently. Some of these may fall into the blindingly obvious I know, but it is the little things that makes some of the biggest differences.

1. Take opportunitites when they are presented to you. If you can't be bothered to open the door when they knock, they will go and knock elsewhere.
2. When you are faced with a decision and don't know which way to go - go with the bolder choice and stretch yourself.
3. Meet regularly with like-minded people, or even better people who will challenge you to do more, be more, achieve more and expect to see results from you.
4. Get a good night's sleep - every night. This is one I am trying to work out - as an insomniac I do struggle with sleep - but I am working on how to get between 6 and 8 hours of quality sleep a night - how can I expect to do all that I do without it?
5. Stick to your guns.
6. Keep the passion alive.
a. Do something unexpected
b. Do something on your own - because you can
7. Challenge your reading patterns
8. Watch a documentary on a subject that you know nothing about
9. Make time for your family and friends. These form part of your personal support network and are vital to your lifes balance.
10. Take care of yourself
a. Eat well, but try new foods every now and then
b. Drink in moderation
c. Exercise to keep your mind and your body in good health
11. Pay yourself first
12. Save money
13. Pay your bills
14. Play with your kids, grandkids and your pets
15. Have some downtime each day
16. Keep your appointments
17. Return phone calls, letters and library books

Remember a lot of your emotional well being determines your physical well being

Thanks Chris, nope never heard of them....must be here in Aus as something else. Try not to use chemicals - may use valerian (herbal) if it's been too long between decent sleeps.
And thank you for taking the time to comment - I really do appreciate it
Cheers my dear
