Retrospective forward thinking

Tomorrow is June 30th.

For those of us in Australia it is time to think about tax returns. But more importantly (IMHO) it is half way through the year that is 2009.

Taking a look back at the first 6 months of the year:

* Did you manage to achieve any major goals?
* Are you on schedule to finalise some major goals for the 2nd half of 2009 - or has life gotten in the way of those things you said you wanted to achieve?
* Do you have any major goals lined up for the 2nd half of 2009?

As you know I am a great believer in the concept of being able to do more today than I did yesterday. Which is both a good and a bad thing. I have several major long-term goals. These are on track as I work on these in a minor way every day (remember ever little step can take you towards or away from your goals). But it is the shorter and medium term goals that I have a problem with. Namely - I have not imposed a time limit on them and I should because my problem lies with prioritising and time management. Households, kids, creatures and exercise notwithstanding - there are areas where I can make improvements. And I will need to make some adjustments so I can get moving on several writing projects and other things I feel have been severely neglected.

The beauty about taking stock at the end of each week, each month and tomorrow at the end of a 6-month period means you can determine if you are on the right track. And if not, then how many adjustments you need to make in order to make significant progress.

How about you? Where do you need to make adjustments?
