Imagine life without shoelaces

Can you imagine life without shoelaces? how about the eyelet holes that the shoelaces go through? Sure there are velcro straps and pull on boots, but shoelaces - who invented those?

Can you imagine a life without people who thought about things like shoelaces and other "mundane" things we take for granted. The endless hours of working out the correct length, type of material - and the little bits of plastic at the end - to stop the laces from fraying.

And can you imagine what other people would have said to the person who invented shoelaces....You're staying up all night to work out how we can keep our boots on? what for? we don't need shoelaces...why don't you get a life!

When you stop to think about everything that surrounds us, every thing we do - every single day is because someone, somewhere had this brilliant idea and stopped at nothing, and I do mean NOTHING to get the idea into being. The thought processes, the imagination, the sheer creativity of everything that surrounds us - is truly astounding. Never be afraid of your ideas and the difference they can make to the world. Imagine what life would be like without your idea, your creativity and your vision and you will stop at nothing. You will know exactly what actions you need to take to make your dreams a reality.

The plastic bits at the end of shoe laces are called "aglets."
