Outside influences can make or break you
It looked cold and grey outside this morning. Did I want to get up, get dressed and hit the gym?
The answer was a whole-hearted "no"
Saturday morning, getting up at 7am is not my idea of THE thing to do after a 70 hour working week. But I knew that if I didn't, I would allow the usual excuses to overrule.
* I'm tired
* I'm injured
* I really can't be bothered
* And it does look cold and miserable out there
Every time we allow outside influences to influence our decision making process, we are not motivated enough to overcome the easy and dominant side of us.
* It's easy to stay home when it's cold and wet.
* It's easy to allow "well meaning" friends and members of our family to tell us our ideas are stupid, and what do we want to do that for?
* It's easy to be swayed by our "friends" telling us to forget our homework and to come out and "play"
Just as it's easy for our minds to wreak havoc with our plans; outside influences such as weather, other people's attitudes, other people's expectations, other people's requirements of us can overide what we say we want to do.
So - make a decision, that's the first thing. The second and perhaps harder part is of course to follow through with those decisions. Sometimes it might not be the right decision. It may have rained whilst I was walking - and given there is not a bit of shelter on the walk around the bridges, I would have gotten soaked. Given that I wasn't dressed for monsoonal downpours I may have caught a chill as a result. I may have damaged my right quad and left achilles even more. But it didn't and I didn't....and I got the photo's to prove it.
For my facebook friends - they're in the album marked "out and about"
If you haven't added me as a friend yet - www.facebook.com/ellegb
But if you're good I'll also upload them to the gallery.... walks around perth
As we begin the weekend and as we plan our next working week. Make a note of your thoughts. Are they helping our hindering your progress?
With many thoughts

Sometimes you just aren't motivated, not even interested. Should that thing be done? Your mind says Yes, but your feelings are empty.
So, what's the fix?
I'd be interested to know other's opinion on this one...
