Don't let your dishes stack up

Say you will do it now...then do it immediately.

This is a good way to catch yourself when you say "i'll do that in a minute" because I can almost guarantee you won't be doing it in a minute. You will reach the end of today and chastise yourself for not doing those minor and often silly things you said you were going to do, but didn't.

Getting more done every day isn't rocket science, it's just using the time you have in a better way.

So if something will only take a few minutes to do, then get on and do it, stop having minor things hanging around the to do list. They should just be done.

And the why is simple.

Imagine not washing the dishes after dinner tonight. A minor chore, but you couldn't be bothered or there was a program you wanted to watch on the television. You tell yourself "i'll do them in the morning". What happens then of course you don't give yourself the extra few minutes you need to do them. You rush into the kitchen to grab some breakfast and groan. And now there are more dishes to be done.

Little problems can become major issues if we let them. So - don't let your dishes (problems) stack up, but tackle them when they arise - then it won't take as long to clear the backlog.

Apart from the odd facetious comments I received about this post - one thing I want to say - sometimes the meaning of the post isn't the literal one. Sorry if sometimes my strange analogies confuse.
