Where have you been?

Now I come to think about that question, I can conclude I've been having a holiday from thinking....A chance to re-charge my mental batteries as I move into the second half of my life. Yes - Sunday 13th September 2009 is a major milestone birthday for me - and I can say with hand on my heart that I have been coasting, but now it is time to ramp up the effort to output ratio and get on with "stuff". I am perhaps more conscious than most of how much time I waste - that's both the trouble and the beauty of running a motivational website on ways to overcome the procrastination habit. Even I can and do waste time. I do things, then re-do things, I can be hopelessly addicted to perfectionism with my writing - even if I rarely reach it. And tomorrow I will share something with you that I have been working on for a couple of days. Why tomorrow? Well today is a special day for a lot of people around the world and I want to keep today's message short.

Today is father's day here in Australia and I just wanted to wish all the fathers, regardless of whether you are celebrating this day or not, a day filled with joy and love. We can all be forgiven for forgetting the people who matter to us, especially in our busy and hectic lifestyles. But today is as good a day as any to reconnect with these people - and not just with our dad's. Pick up the phone, write a letter, knock on a door - say hi, give a hug, make time to spend time with the people you say you care about.

And the reason is simple

* People can be gone in an instant.
* Life is too short to bear grudges
* Life is too short, even at its longest

So - again my single question to you - what are you waiting for?

Live a big life, make a difference to those people around you, and enjoy every single minute of it - it may seem like everything takes longer when you're miserable, but who wants to waste life being unhappy all the time? But that's up to "you" I suppose.
