From New Year's Resolutions to New Year's Evolutions
First of all let me say congratulations to all those who took part in the 100 day goal achievement challenge, I have received many emails from challengers to say it helped them achieve so many things during the last 100 days of the year. People who have removed bad habits and created new ones as a result. People who have lost weight and size, and others who said just having the workbook there to prompt them was a wonderful support tool. And yes I did manage to achieve my major "goal" for the last 100 days of the year and I wore my jeans for the first time in 12 months yesterday. And no I didn't have to lie down on the bed to do them up :-)
So - well done everyone, I am immensely proud of you.
As you can imagine, the people who understood and used the workbook as it was intended will not need to write a New Year's Resolutions list ever again.
A New Year's Resolutions list as I mentioned the other day comes at life from entirely the wrong direction. When you are focussed on what you don't want - how can you focus on what you do.
I want to give up smoking, I want to lose weight
Surely what you do want are things like:
I want better health
I want clean lungs
I want to be able to taste food again
I want my clothes / hair to smell nice and not smoky
I want to be able to run without getting out of breath
By focusing on the positives rather than the negatives - you will be able to move forwards
And that is what I wish for you in 2010.
I would like you to focus on what you want, and not what you don't want. I want you to focus on positives and not negatives. And one of the best ways to do that is by removing any negative language from your vocabulary. When all you can speak about is good things, when all you can comment on is what wonderful things you are going to achieve by making some minor changes to your daily habits will you create a life worthy of you in 2010.
So my friends, here's to a truly remarkable 2010, and lets make it a truly "Happy" New Year
