What would happen if?

Given that we have almost reached the end of week 2 of 2010 I have a couple of questions for you.

Your life is made up of minute decisions, day after day each tiny decision impacts on the next set of choices you are faced with.

You can choose to sit in front of the television drinking beer all night, or you can delay your "pleasure" for the longer term plans you have and other things you say you want to do.

What would happen if you chose to do your homework instead of sitting in front of the computer on facebook / myspace / second life all night? Would you get better marks? Would you be less stressed about
looming deadlines? Would you be forging your future career one assignment at a time?

What would happen if you decided to pursue your dream of being an artist rather than working 9-5 in a job you hate but were "forced" to take because it was the most sensible thing to do?

What would happen if you made those phone calls you've been putting off? Would you make the extra sales? Would you beat your first month quota? Or would you prefer to stand in the kitchen drinking coffee
talking to your fellow workers about how tough things are and how you "wish" people were buying. They might if you spoke to them you know.

What would happen if you spoke to your family - you know, the ones you haven't spoken to in a dozen years because of some slight or other you can't remember. Would you lose face by doing so or gain a whole new
relationship with people who loved you and you loved them - at one time?

What would happen if you decided to go for a walk when you got home from work rather than sitting down with a glass or three of wine? Would you be fitter, healthier? Would you be able to work through the
issues of the day? Would you sleep better as a result?

What would happen if you made the decision to read a chapter of a book each night? What would that do to your personal development, business, family life?

What would happen if you decided not to buy that cup of coffee on the way to work each morning - would you be able to save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars each year?

What would happen - well only you can decide what will happen next.

All I can hope is that you choose to do something that for the next 7 days and beyond that will enhance your life rather than ultimately detract you from it.

With many thoughts....
