Today was the day of the BIG Walk - a 6km, 11km or 15km walk for charity to raise funds for kids with cancer at PMH
The event raised (in total) well over $50,000 and is a fantastic result - thank you.
I've attached some pics from this morning - http://www.motivateme.info/gallery/the-big-walk-311010/
My time for the 15k's was 2hrs and 13 mins. To give you a time stamp - my girlfriend and I walked the Perth City to Surf which is 12k's in 2hrs 18 mins ... the difference when you walk to your own pace, although I must remember to take my walkman next time, people were complaining about the singing ;-)
I was walking on my own - well amongst the crowd at least - and dodged round some slower walkers when I heard "don't lose the witch" so I yelled "OY - cheeky" turns out a group of ladies had tried to match my pace through the duration of the walk ... I said, well I'm out to break a personal record, so I hope you are up for it. And then I explained about you and the challenge, and she said "well you are certainly motivating us" ... it was interesting though, a couple of k's further on, I overheard one lady tell someone else about why I do these kinds of things - our fame is spreading :-)
Anyway, just a quick thank you to everyone who sponsored me, both myself and the kids at PMH are very grateful.
Elle
