When faced with some difficult decisions it is a good idea to think on paper.
A simple pad of paper, draw a line down the middle and then write down all the positives (pluses) on one side and all the negatives (reasons not to do something) on the other.
There is a problem with doing that though - sometimes we know the decision we should take, but the sensible side of us, says - but, but, but ...
Faced with a decision to quit your job because you've had enough, want better / different work, the sensible decision would be to stay and wait until you found "something better". The problem with doing that is you have no sense of urgency to change your circumstances. However, handing in your resignation tends to force you to look for something else - especially if you have bills to pay and people who depend on you.
Want to travel the world but can't afford to? Well I know of 2 people in 2 different countries who sold houses, handed in resignation letters and booked their tickets - this year. Now I know that neither have family commitments holding them back, but even so, a major decision to take - but they did it.
So - if your sensible self is being too sensible and you know what the decision really is - then go with the bolder choice. I know it can seem daunting, I know it can be a difficult emotionally, HOWEVER, once that decision has been made (whatever it is) believe me you are prepped to find the solution.
Go with the bolder choice, your future depends on it.
