Recommended reading - I need you to set me some homework
Every once in a while I ask you to "train the trainer" and set me some homework. Don't worry it's nothing too onerous on your part. All I need you to do is this:
Tell me name and title of one book that has touched you in some way during 2010.
If you post it here -
that way your fellow readers get to see your recommendation as well as me - so, those books that have inspired you, guided you, made you question, made you think, made you act, helped you to overcome the procrastination habit, motivated you - those are the books I need to read during this next year, and if I need to read them, well some of your fellow readers might like to read them too.
So - if I had to narrow mine down to one book it would be this:
The Go Giver - by Bob Burg and John David Mann - you've heard me mention it many times, but my main reason is this - we may think we are in the "sales" business, but we are not in sales, we are in the business of giving.
Tell me your favourite. No prizes, just a chance to share and pool our knowledge as we gather our thoughts for the new year.
Thanks and regards
Elle
p.s. BTW I've read the karma sutra :-) so please be nice

It's a bit different, in that it is a philosophical treatise, but it made me realise that it's ok not to have all the answers, and it is probably the one good thing my degree has done for my mental health.
It made me realise that I just need to be ready when opportunities knock, and that others are not luckier than me. There are just many aspects of life that make success, and most of them have nothing to do with luck!
