What kind of energy magnet are you?

Before I get into today's post I would just like to give you a insight into a "ah-ha" moment. It's Friday evening. It's been a very long week, as I'm sure it has been for a lot of you. But I decided that if I wanted to keep moving with some of my goals I was going to have to make some changes. So instead of getting home and starting the usual Friday night clean up and cook dinner routine, I got changed into some old workout gear and went into the garden and started ripping out more (I hesitate to use the word lawn) - anyway grass - 30 minutes later and my back told me it was time to stop (old injury) - so I went inside, changed shoes, had a drink of water and went for a walk. As I was walking I could feel myself smiling - OK - grinning. And you know what, it was absolutely contagious. Every one I passed smiled back and in one case, three burly workmen in a "ute" waved. It was a great walk.

Which of course made me think about tonight's post and the kind of energy we attract. I think it was Jim Rohn who said "if you want to attract, you need to become attractive". Now I'm sure you have all heard of the Law of Attraction and "the secret" well I'm not sure if it's a "Law" or just one of the fundamentals of human nature, but I do feel we attract that which we expect to receive - but we also attract that whch we "put out". Tonight I was happy (and I'll come to the why in just a moment), actually I was more than just happy - I was pleased with myself. I had made a decision today that I wouldn't waste tonight, I would do certain things and within a very short space of time I had virtually crossed them all off my list of want to do items. Life is like that. When you make a decision and you act upon that decision - you achieve things. Simple. It's also easy not to do.. Anyway, because I was pleased with msyelf - it echoed around me, other people could feel it and they responded accordingly.

So - an observation for you as you start your weekend.

What kind of energy magnet are you?

What kind of people and situations are you attracting into your life? Now you may not want 3 burly workmen in a ute to wave and smile at you, but you know what I mean.

Now, as to why I was pleased with myself - well it comes back to a post I wrote a while back called "be like the bamboo" (I've posted the link here - http://www.motivateme.info/daily-dose-ezine/2009/10/7/be-like-the-bamboo.html). Some of you will remember it and some of you won't have read it, because you are new to the Daily Dose - but basically it said - goals are like bamboo. We spend a lot of time laying down the foundations for our goals (roots), every day we do something towards our goals and then so it seems - we become an overnight success when everything starts to fall into place.

My garden is like that. I've been removing turf for weeks now and never seemed to have gotten anywhere but dirty. Tonight made all the difference. Just 30 minutes and "all of a sudden" I am 2/3 of the way to clearing the grass to make way for a border I want to plant in the autumn (bear in mind we are "down under" and it is still summer here).

Oh and by the way - when I started to think about that particular post, it gave me another reason to smile because it will be featured in an upcoming book to be published by Bob Proctor - yes, he of the secret!! the book is called "What you don't fix...your kids will inherit" by Anamarie & Cory Seidel and I'm really quite excited.

So a couple of things to think about

  1. Your goals may not seem like they are going anywhere, but each decision to do something towards them - will pay off.
  2. The energy you "put out" will come back to you magnified.

There was an interesting question on the forum - Health, Fitness and Weightloss today and I thought I would throw the question over to you....I've already had my say of course, but I could be wrong as I don't know the science behind these energy drinks.

Anyway the question was -

Are energy drinks and other supplements good for you over the long term?

If you have any advice for Becky and anyone else who is interested, please go to - http://www.motivateme.info/health-fitness-weightloss/post/1018883
