Goals of life: What's on your list?

If time, money and energy were not an issue what would you like to achieve over the course of your life?

When we are talking about goals and goal setting these aren't the normal goals most people set themselves, such as pay off the mortgage, maintain a healthy weight / BMI, do 200 push ups / learn French or whatever you have on your normal goal list. But your life goals, those things you have always dreamed about doing.

Where do you want to go? Who do you want to meet? What do you want to learn how to drive / fly? Racing cars, motorbikes, helicopters, planes? Do you want to star in a movie? Do you want to write one?

My life goals mainly revolve around travel. But I'm not talking about the usual 2 week holiday to Spain, Malta or Cyprus (although I've been to all 3). But to be able to experience the place without the usual time constraints associated with "time off work". A friend of mine spend 3 months travelling through South America with her husband a couple of friends. Another friend prefers to travel alone (albeit in a group) but she doesn't do the tourist thing. In fact the last trip she combined work and pleasure, living in the city, booked language classes and took Tango lessons - and she sent us the photo to prove she had indeed learned the art.

To my friends, these were both "dream destinations" as in something they've ALWAYS wanted to do. Speak to them about it now and you can still hear the passion in their voices.

So - do you have "Dream Destinations"? What would it take for you to get there?

Your life goals are not "stuff" you acquire necessarily but experiences.

If you have never written a life goals list before, today is a good day to do it. You need some time, some paper a pen or three and your imagination. Start writing.

And don't let the usual negative chatter infect your mind with - but, what if's and I don't think that's a good idea - do you?

Remember the caveat - if time, money and energy were not an issue - what would you be doing?

My next question is this - what would happen when you get to the end of your life (whenever that is) and you have not managed to achieve any of those items on your list? Would you still consider yourself to have lived  full life?

My next question then - are you still happy doing what you've always done or are you going to find a way to achieve some or all of your "goals of life"?
