Don't do second things first
Set priorities for your goals. A major part of successful living lies in the ability to put first things first. Indeed, the reason most major goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first.
Robert J. McKain
Always ask yourself:
- What would be the best use of my time - right now?
- Which item on my to-do list would give me the biggest payoff?
- What am I doing that I should NOT be doing (and stop doing it)
The reason most goals fail is because we insist on doing things that
- Do not matter
- Are not important
- Do not take us anywhere near what we say we want
Setting goals can be classed as the easy part - taking the steps we need to achieve those goals.... Well if it involves any kind of personal discipline and the day-to-day steady progress through the use of correct action, it's no wonder most people stay stuck.
