Clearing cluttered thinking
Clarity of thought and action comes from clearing the clutter and we do that by taking action on what is causing the block.
Clutter allows us to hide, and whilst we are hiding from our problem (cluttered thinking) we cannot move forwards.
- What have you failed to act upon recently?
- What are you hiding behind?
- What are you hiding from?
- What are you afraid of?
When we are surrounded by our clutter we feel safe, we don't have to deal with the problems - because we can't really see what they are.
And our physical words are the manifestation of this process.
You may say you don't have the time to "clean" - fine get someone else to "clean" for you - but it doesn't stop you making the messes. However, there is one task that you cannot delegate entirely - and that is cleaning your mind of the thoughts that are holding you back. You may of course ask for help - from a friend with a willing ear to listen to your problems, a therapist or counsellor - it's OK to talk things through - but unless you take the steps you know you need to take - you may as well not have bothered.
Say for instance you are struggling under a mountain of debt. You make an appointment with your financial advisor and he / she makes some suggestions as to how to solve this particular issue / problem. Fine, now you have some solutions - but unless you follow through with the action and deal with it, you've just wasted your time and paid for a service that has given you no tangible benefit AND you still have your mountain of debt.
- What problems are you hiding behind?
- What have you spoken about dealing with but never followed through with the actions?
- What are you continuing to do that you know will only make the problem bigger?
Here's to many solved problems
