If it's too good to be true ....
You've seen the email, you've read the offer and your BS meter has kicked in. No, can't be true, can't be real, won't work for me, got to be a scam.
It doesn't matter if the offer is a way to lose weight, a way to make money or a way to build a gazillion followers overnight (OK I made that number up) we know it probably won't work, but we buy a copy of the damn thing anyway - hoping for that elusive silver bullet.
The truth is, some offers are genuine and some of them work - some of the time. Unfortunately, some people have no compunction about selling you the world for 3 easy payments of .... but you have to do EXACTLY what they say or it won't work - hence why it probably won't work and hence why you probably won't get the same kind of results. The self-help and weight loss industry likes people like us.
But it annoys me. It annoys me that people in the industry will use cross promotion to sell things they don't believe in and don't use themselves just to get the affiliate dollars. But maybe I'm the stupid one, after all they're the ones who say they're making money - oops did I say that?
So how are "they" different from the Daily Dose - well in lots of ways actually.
I will occasionally tell you what I'm reading, but that's to prove to you I am still on the learning curve, just like you. I will occasionally tell you something if it relates to the challenge - as most of you have a copy of that (we gave it away in 2009 if you remember) I don't have a problem with reminding you of its importance. And I will tell you if I need you to think about things differently, or do some task - as we all know - action is essential if we want to move forwards AND overcome the procrastination habit.
So today's message is a two-fold one:
1. Follow your heart, go for your dreams - but always work with your own integrity gene.
2. You don't need any more information, you probably have enough books, programs, courses - you don't need to buy just one more so you can get started. You have enough now to make a start. Any more is just a waste of money - don't believe me, look at your bookcases and your downloaded files. Did you read / listen to them all? Did you follow through with the exercises / suggestions / action ideas? Have you managed to reach the promised outcome?
So - what I would like you to do
1. Choose an area you know you need to work on and commit for the next 100 days to work on it - yes get out your copy of the challenge - you should have it hidden somewhere on your computer - now is the time to use it. If you don't have it, you don't NEED to get a copy (did I just say that !!!) - just commit to your chosen area and make a note in your diary of what you have done each day.
- It may be you choose to read a chapter of a book each day
- Start to exercise - every day regardless of whatever else you need to do or the weather
- Put money aside for your future
- Commit to giving up cigarettes
- Start work on your own business
- Make a commitment to write useful and interesting articles to send to your clients
or whatever your chosen goal is
2. Don't stop if things get too hard or if life gets in the way. If you know what you want, you should be able to navigate around any kind of road block you come up against. And one thing I know for certain is this - if you really decide to do something then things do tend to conspire to help you reach your goal - and you know I'm right.
Scroll down - there's something else today too ....
With many thoughts
