Ways to overcome the procrastination habit - part 2

Yesterday we provided some simple strategies on ways to overcome the procrastination habit. If you didn't find those suggestions helpful, I hope the next batch of suggestions will resonate for you and allow you to overcome the procrastination habit.

Overcome the procrastination habit by:

  • Be patient with yourself when you are learning something new. Sometimes you have to give time, time.
  • Saying thank you for what you currently have and all the good that is coming to you - whilst you work towards your next set of goals and targets
  • Getting rid of the negative vocabulary that you either think or speak - if you have to think "positively" about every situation including your problems - you will find some solutions and ways to move forwards
  • Living with integrity
  • Be true to who you are and what you want to achieve - we can all be swayed by other people and sometimes not in a good way.
  • Not taking no for an answer
  • Asking yourself - WHY?
  • Doing the task / job you have been putting off - first. Make the phone calls, write the letters, answering the emails
  • Clear your desk
  • Getting outside and enjoy breathing real air rather than the stuffy, overheated office recycled rubbish
  • Completing one task entirely before moving on to the next one
  • Leading by example - you should never deal in double standards
  • Have a treat day - once a month at the very least, once a fortnight would be better - aim to put the balance back into the work / life bit
  • Taking a day off to do nothing in particular - no running around, no errands, no plans - just decide on the day what you want to do - and then do it
  • And stop collecting techniques - we all over think things - stop the paralysis by analysis and begin the process of change

With many thoughts
