How badly do you want it?

Goal setting is easy, decide what you want. If you want to stand a better chance of achieving whatever you said you wanted, then you also need to write them down. However, that is just a first step because -

Goal achievement on the other hand is slightly harder than merely writing down your desires on a bit of paper and hoping someone or something will bring it to you. To succeed with your goals, you do have to spend time and energy on a regular basis and sometimes for a very long period of time in order to achieve them, which is why a lot of goals fail. And the reason is quite simple - you need to want "it" badly enough that you will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes or die trying.

If you have a strong enough desire then it doesn't matter how many times you fall down or fall over, you will always find a way to get back up and start again.

Conversely

No desire = no action = no results

So - a question

How strong is your desire?

Elle,

Well said. Now I have a question. How do you learn to increase desire?
Thanks

Hi Lance

Thanks for the comment - I will post the answer there too, but thought I would send it directly to yourself

OK, this comes back to your goals - sorry

Did you write your bucket list? As in everything on that list is something you say you want to do before you die? (kick the bucket?)
How does that list compare to your current goal list?

WE should all have something to look forward to and goals and dreams from the bucket list should be responsible for pulling us forward. We should want something so badly that we can't help but want to work on them.

Now - look at your goal list - what is on it at the moment - is it just a list of random wants? Why not add some detail.... what kind of car? What kind of engine, what colour, where from ... what kind of house, what kind of business..... when you start to add details you can either turn yourself away from the idea or take yourself closer to it. Climb everest - join a walking club to start because you are going to have to be very fit.... want to play golf with Greg Norman ..... then you need to make sure you game is up to par and you can get into a tounrament where he's going to be playing .... or why not create a tournament - do it for charity and invite the papers and the television - run it close to another tournament and make it a one shot wonder ....

Believe me we are only limited by our imagination when it comes to our personal goals ....

The more fun you have with your goals the stronger your desire will be
