A picture is worth

I love photographs, they can tell us how far we have come and how far we still have to go. The beauty of photographs is a simple one - we have a way of documenting our entire life - in glorious colour. We can of course take pictures of the places we have been, the people we have met, our families, as our children grow, the houses we have lived in and the beauty of everything around us. But we can also use them as a check point for our personal goals - we can use them to check to see how far our shape has changed when we are starting and moving through a diet and exercise plan. We can tell whether our choice of clothes really do work or we can decide "what were we thinking" - pictures can do that.

Have you ever considered documeting your goals through pictures?

When we get stuck (and believe me, we all do get stuck) we can go through our pictorial time line and we can prove to ourselves what we have done, where we have been and how far we have traversed through our personal journey's, and use this as a way to get going again.

But don't stop with your photographs.

Have you ever tried painting? If you were given a blank canvas on which to record your ideal life, what would you paint? Think in colour if not in actual images just for a moment. I consider that a rich and vibrant life would not be painted in cream, gray nor black or white, but would encompass every single shade of the color spectrum. Be honest - how many colors is your canvas currently missing at the moment. How can you add some more?

Your goals can inspire you to add more colour - and if they don't scream "PAINT ME IN BIG BOLD AND VIBRANT COLORS" I'd suggest you need better goals.

If you are not a visual person at the moment and can't think of painting your own canvas if only in your mind - go through appropriate images, find them, cut them out and use those as your visual reminders and clues as to the colour your own life should be.

And don't forget dream boards - either a physical one, or a computer based one. I've used both. The beauty of a computer generated one is that you can put the file onto a portable storage device and take it with you, so if you need inspiration at work for instance, you can load it up, remind yourself.

Sometimes our minds do need a jolt now and again - so why not use color and make it more interesting, appealing and vibrant - guaranteed you'll achieve more as a result.

P.S. I hope you have found time over the last couple of days to try some of the suggestions I shared with you. We can be inspired, but the only true test of this or any other "motivationa;" book or ezine is if you take some of the suggestions and start applying them to where you are in your life. Use the ones that resonate most with you now, others can be added at a later date to make your solution truly unique.

P. P.S.: If you've enjoyed this newsletter and have found it to be valuable, would do me the favour and forward it to your friends, family and associates, it would be very much appreciated. And if they would like to subscribe, they just need to visit http://www.motivateme.info for easy and convenient sign-up.
