"He that is good at making excuses is seldom good at anything else"
Benjamin Franklin
If someone were to offer you a million dollars but you had to put in a little effort and "dig" for it, would you still be willing to have your hand out?
How far would I have to dig? Until you find it
But that could take ages - Well yes it could
But I've got other stuff to do - I'll take it that's a no then
Well how hard is it going to be? That depends on how hard you make it
You see, we can all put in a little effort and "dig" for a million dollars. The person who saves a couple of dollars every day and uses the power of compound interest can make a million dollars - it probably takes about 20 years, but ask yourself this. How long have you been working? How much money have you saved? What would have happened if you had put away a couple of dollars consistantly over the course of your working lives so far and never touched it? Truth is we would be sitting on a lot more money than most of us are now.
The reality is, most of us can save for a holiday or a car, but how many of us have thought about saving for our long term future?
So - consider that if you start now and put away a few dollars every pay packet, then follow it with a few more dollars each time we are paid or every time we earn a bonus, add some compound interest and time and you will get there - would you be willing to put in that kind of effort over the long term?
Of course if you have a great idea and turn that great idea into a business then you will reach your goal a whole lot faster, but I'm sure you'll agree it is something worth thinking about, but more importantly think about doing.
With many thoughts

Motivational Me to Exercise: 5. Be consistent
---------------------------
When it comes to exercise, consistency is important. It means you have appointments with yourself that you do not break or postpone. Imagine paying someone to train you, you've given over a good wad of cash - how likely are you to turn up?
If good health is important to you then exercise should be one of the first things on your to-do list every week. The best tip I can give you is this: It is a good idea to train on the same day / same time each week.
We need to set patterns into our cycle of thinking and doing, that way when someone says to you, why don't you come out and have drinks after work you can smile and say, if you're still there when I've finished at the gym / been for my run, I might consider coming down - but don't wait for me.
But then why would you want to waste the exercise benefits by going for a pint afterward?
Consistancy doesn't mean that you have to train every day, in fact doing so could hinder rather than help - if you are doing the same exercises / set of exercises - that is. Your body needs to rest and recover. However, you can intersperse different types of exercise / routines into your week.
I train at the gym 3 - 5 times a week at the gym depending on my schedule. However, because the gym runs a variety of classes I can go every day and do something different / work different muscle groups. What I do in between gym sessions includes walking and of course a lot of incidental exercise. But more of that another day.
Make sure you plan your exercise just as you plan everything else and then stick to your plan. Sounds simple - but it really is - once you make the decision.
