I can't delegate this task

Believe it or not I can't delegate this task.

And neither can you.

Nope, this one is down to us.

What is for goodness sake, stop talking in riddles.

Exercise and eating well. OK, make that 2 things we can't delegate (and these are just 2 things we can't delegate there are more as we will find out). While there are certain parts you can get help on, ultimately it is down to us. We can for instance delegate the task of shopping to someone else, or organise the groceries through an online service provider. We can even delegate the task of putting the stuff away and having it cooked for us - what we can't delegate is the eating part. Not if we want to live.

And it's the same with exercise. Someone else can organise our gym memberships and pack our bags for us, but we still have to go to the gym and exercise more than our jaws if we want to get fit and stay fit. Exercise is something we cannot do once, nor is it something we can overdo and save the excess for a rainy day.

I also strongly believe that we need to take ownership of every goal we have on our list if we want to achieve them. Makes sense when you think about - more of that in the next section though.

One question - why do we insist on giving our powers away. We have the power to decide what we want to do, what we can and do achieve, yet we live our lives in the main reacting to events. Our plans go out the window when "life" gets in the way.

So - today and from this day on I would like you to take back control of your own life and decide what it is you actually want - only you can decide.

Do you want to get the job of your dreams?
Do you need to get the qualifications first?
Do you need to go to class and do the assignments?
Do you need to get out of bed and get to school?

Or are you still debating whether to let someone else give it all to you without having to make any kind of effort?

100 Day Challenge: Action step for today
---------------------------

The simple act of writing down your goals can increase the rate of accomplishment by over 50%

Some say the figure is higher than that. But why should this be the case? Well it's not that you write it down once that matters - it's what else you write down that is the key.

Today I would like you to take one of your goals - write it down
Next: Write down 1 thing you can do today to bring that goal closer to you - that's it - just one thing - then complete that 1 thing.

So - a for instance...

You want a new car - what kind? what colour? what make? what model? how much are they going for? Where are the dealers? How much have you saved or do you need to speak to the bank / loan company?

You can even call this part RESEARCH - because that's what you are doing. You are researching your next vehicle purchase.

So far all you've done is write - now comes the fun part - go and find one. How can you know what your new car is going to be like if you have never sat in one, never smelt that "new car smell", never felt it move with you... action without emotion is dull. Action with emotion, now that's when the fun starts and the goals become realities.
