I'll get around to that one day

I drive a lot of miles each week, consequently you get to see a lot of 'stuff'. But the thing that stuck in my mind the most was written on the bumper of a 4WD which said "the road to one day, leads to the town of nowhere"

I'm sure we can  or all be guilty of saying "I'll get around to that one day" and must confess that if I do say or think that, I stop and question why that "one day" is not today. Of course there are some ideas that need careful planning and consideration, or logistically it cannot be completed that day. With that in mind, we are not necessarily talking tasks but goal items.

A for instance :

Opening a new business - this is not something which can be achieved in a single day. You cannot say "right, today I am going to open that shop I have always wanted to run" nice sentiment but the preparation does take some time before the shop can actually open. And just off the top of my head, the following needs to be addressed first:

Where?
What will you sell?
Is there a market for it?
How are you going to finance it? Do you need to talk to the bank?
What is it going to be called - have you registered the business name? What about Tax, Insurance, Workers Compensation and Public Liabilities.
Do you need a licence of some sort?
How many staff are you going to need? Coffee shops for instance need people who can make decent coffee, others need to deliver it to tables or are you going to make them wait? etc etc
Who are your suppliers?
Marketing  - you cannot open a store without some form of advertising and promotion
What about a web presence?

And a dozen other items that crop up once you begin the process of opening a new business ...

Are you guilty of saying "I'll get around to that one day"

Why not today?

p.s. there are several towns called "nowhere" and there are 2 variations in Australia called "Nowhere Else" http://travel.ninemsn.com.au/holidaytype/weird/655118/a-z-of-unusual-australian-place-names if you're interested.
