You are very lucky

It is interesting listening to the words people choose when they speak to people they are with - those conversations in passing we hear all the time. Sometimes I can't help but overhear the overly loud discussions of who, what, where and why - and in most cases I tune out the blah, blah, blah.

But one day last weekend, a couple of early 20's females were walking closely behind myself and my partner - said one to the other "I've had such a bad day"

Now, she might have, but I sensed a drama queen element in the massive after sigh so couldn't resist when I said overly loudly "compared to who, and compared to what"

If you are anything like most "normal" people you are probably rushing around the stores trying to find that perfect gift for aunt's you don't see and kids who wanted something other than what you will give them. If that is the case, then you are very lucky indeed because:

You have family and friends to buy for - some people don't
You have money to do so - some people don't
You are living in a place that allows freedom of choice - some people don't live where they have shops, let alone money to spend in them

Don't forget to count the blessings you have in abundance as we race towards the end of another year and a day of gift giving on the 25th December. Remember to some people it's just another day in an endless stream of days that have no particular meaning, other than hoping they have enough food to survive and a safe place to sleep.

And if that isn't something to think about ...
