YOU can make a difference
You can make a difference, believe me you can.
But who am I? I am a single person, a lone voice ... what can I do?
You can do whatever you want - all you have to do is believe in yourself and whatever it is you want to achieve. When you do that, then the blocks and the barriers that you put around yourself will melt away.
BUT?
No buts
Seriously?
Think of it in this way, most of what we see around us today started off with the thought by a single person. They may then enlist the help of others, but they thought about it, and put the flesh on the bones of that thought, until it took shape - and once they had done that, others couldn't help but join in.
Oh
How many times have you had the most brilliant of ideas and you added details, worked out what needed to be done. You told everyone who cared to listen and then you refined those thoughts and all of a sudden the "thing" was there... that's what we are talking about here.
YES, yes - it has happened exactly like that...
So - what can you do today to make a difference?
Oh? Errr, I'm not sure?
Really? Why not make an extra dinner and take it to someone who needs it. Are you good with a pair of knitting needles - millions of kids around the world have little or nothing to wear - or why not dig through your closet and get rid of those clothes you don't wear and donate them. Why not offer to babysit for a new mum who is tired and needs sleep? Don't have anything but time - well then you are rich indeed, give a little time to someone who doesn't have much or needs a hug or an ear. It's amazing how rich we are and how much we can share when we look at life through a different set of eyes. Let me tell you a story - after the boxing day tsunami a lone shoe washed up onto the shore of a beach - it inspired a single man to find shoes, he asked people, friends, family, businesses and whomever else who would listen and he found a way to give thousands of pairs of shoes to the people who had nothing. And he's still looking for people to donate shoes to those who don't have any. One man, one thought and he has made a difference to thousands of people. How amazing is that.
You too can make such a difference. Mother Teresa, Einstein, Fleming, Bell, you, me ... we can do amazing things, all we have to do is have a vision ... YOU can make a difference, the question is - will you?
I hope so
