What about me?

"People travel to wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars and they pass themselves without wondering"
Saint Augustine

We can all be guilty of abusing and using our bodies. We feed it inferior foods, stuff it full of what could be considered toxins and poisons (alcohol, caffeine, drugs - including overuse of OTC ones, cigarettes, sugars and fats) and then we complain when it lets us down. We don't feed our animals rubbish, we don't use inferior parts, fuel or oil in our vehicles - yet most of us do it without thinking - to ourselves.

Today is a homework day - just for today I would like you to take some time and look after yourself. Clean out your mind in preparation for the coming week. Spend some time with yourself working out what you do, what habits you have created that could be considered bad or poor ones to have. Then take a good look at the good habits you have - do your good habits outweigh the bad ones or should you make some adjustments?

Then take a good look at the outside of you. What do you look like? What do you like about yourself and your appearance? What could you consider to be areas to be worked on? How would you work on them? Go for the nip and tuck or would it be simpler to increase / improve your exercise, diet and water intake and reduce your reliance on those other things we know we shouldn't indulge in.

Once you have done all that it's time to play dress ups. Go and find those items of clothing you really enjoy wearing, lay them out on your bed and get yourself ready. Once you are bathed / showered / shampoo'ed / made up and dosed in your favourite smells, get dressed - and if you are able, take "you" out on a personal date with yourself ... take half an hour, take an hour, take all day it's up to you. But just for today I would like you to make room for you. After all, we all make room and space for everyone else, sometimes we forget about ourselves - so today it's time to put that balance back.

Relish in the joy that is you. Go on, enjoy yourself - you deserve it.
