Be careful what you wish for

The original saying goes along the lines of

Be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it.

Well I feel that if you spend all your time wishing for things to happen, but don't do anything that means you will reach your goal - then you are merely deluding yourself.

By all means dream, but:

* Flesh out those dreams, put some details on their bones so you can "see" it and know that it is real.
* Take one small step today - if all you can do is take one small step, remember any movement is good. But if you can take a great running leap into the unknown then to coin a very bad catch phrase then "good for you" - not everyone is as brave as you are.
* Keep an eye on the long term, but it is your tiny decisions that makes the biggest difference. You will need to make adjustments as you go along simply because we cannot know everything we need to know before we begin, but you will succeed if you are willing to do the work. Think about it as a car journey - you don't plug in a destination, sit back and let the car do all the work - you actually have to steer, make gear changes, speed up and slow down and occasionally there will be detours and crashes. But that doesn't matter - you still know where you are going and what you need to do to get there.

Dream big, but make sure your actions are speaking louder
