Today's daily dose: 14th September 2011
---------------------------
Thank you to all those people who took the time to wish me a happy birthday for yesterday, your kind thoughts are very much appreciated. And yes I had a wonderful day. I don't know about you, but  I always use my birthday as my personal "New Year" to help me focus on the next 12 months, yes this is the time I set my new year's revolutions rather than January 1st. So - What is my new year's resolution?

Better focus, or what I am not going to do.

And in keeping with the spirit that is the new year's resolutions I shall be writing down and sharing with my partner my top 20 items I have chosen to NOT do during the next 12 months. In sharing the list it will help keep me focused on what I am GOING to do.

Hint: I always write in the positive when I am setting my 12 month goal. In this case - better focus... most people use the negative - I need to lose weight, I need to give up smoking, I need to, I need you to consider writing your goals in the positive - I want to use the money I would have spent on cigarettes to pay for a holiday for myself and the family this year. I want healthy lungs. I want to take up running and not wheeze every time I go out jogging. Given we are moving into the next 100 day challenge - that is my first challenge for you all - by December 31st 2011 what do you want to have accomplished?

In 100 days I want to have completed:

-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I look forward to having better focus. How about you?

With many thoughts

Elle

100 Day Challenge: Birthday Celebrations: Or 47 reasons to join the 100 day challenge:
---------------------------

Thank you to those who have given me their good reason to join the 100 day challenge starting on the 22nd September 2011. Don't forget you do still have time to give me your reason - hint - the 100 day challenge is about taking action TODAY... so while you could leave it til the 20th to get your response in ...

To my current challengers, I hope you are enjoying coming to the end of your first challenge. You should have about $100 in your jar by now - have you picked your bucket list item? I would love to know what you have chosen to do. What else have you managed to achieve in the 100 days?

And a question, now you know how you can use the challenge, are you ready to go again? 22nd September 2011 - but this time I will be doing it with you and following your progress and providing you with a way to structure and think about the last 100 days of the year. Excited? Hope so.

I am not going to:

1. Work after 8.30pm weeknights
2. Work on a saturday afternoon
3. Work on a sunday afternoon
4. Going to make excuses about exercise. It's 3 x gym / week. If I oversleep one day I make it up the next
5. Shop during lunchbreaks. Lunches are for walking
6. Get involved in the gossip
7. Get riled with the kids. I am not owning their unhygienic states any longer
8. Clean up after the kids
9. Keep my social media / email open all day - but have set times to deal with stuff
10. Dwell on what might have been. Present and future only.
11. Live in my head all the time. I will consider the options, but then I will take action that day
12. Put off menial tasks if they are only going to take a few minutes to resolve. Or schedule the task if it is going to take a bit longer
13. Start my day without a plan
14. End each day without organising the next
15.Waste my time
16.Be afraid to try new things or ask Questions even if I think it makes me look stupid.
17. Allow other people to waste my time
18. Fill every minute of every day with "stuff"
19. Feel guilty about making time for my needs
20. Compromise on family time
