Motivate Me is heading to America

One of my big challenges last year was to save up enough money to holiday in America ... well in precisely 4 weeks, my partner, a friend and I will be doing just that ...

My partner has lived in the states, but for my friend and I, it is our first time visiting, so he is dedicated tour leader "thanks honey" :-D

Now before you get all excited, we are not running seminars, just that if you are in the vicinity of Las Vegas towards the end of our road trip, well it would be great to meet you. Let me know if you can be / will be in the area and I'll give you some more details.

Consequently the Daily Dose and of course the challenge, will take on a slightly different delivery mechanism for the duration and I would urge you to connect with me on the methods listed below - because that is where most of the news etc will be posted.

Well I'm excited - not one item crossed off the bucket list, but lots of them

Including:

Los Angeles
San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge
The Big Sur
Carmel - can anyone introduce me to Clint?
Yosemite
The Grand Canyon
Death Valley
Las Vegas

And many spots in between

And if anyone has contacts in the library world, my plan is also to visit as many libraries as I can while I am there. Hey - once a librarian ALWAYS a librarian.

Now that to me is the importance of goals - and a proper deadline - in our case, a plane that leaves here on the 20th March. Once you have that kind of deadline, you simply cannot procrastinate any longer.

Hope to see you there

Motivate me to exercise: Kokoda beckons
---------------------------
It was cool enough (though humid) to attempt the Kokoda track in Kings Perth again on the weekend. Turns out a LOT of people thought the same thing, including the couple who had used the track to train for their trip to base camp Everest last year...

Why are we still doing this honey?
I don't know, we must be mad, we're not training for anything now
me - because you can ... and just in case you decide to do something else in the not too distant future ...
Because we can, I like that ...

I've discovered it does help to have a reason to train, though mine is a lot more selfish than most - I just want a smaller butt to go with the health benefits of a good cardio workout alongside strength training for the legs and of course the uneveness means the core gets a workout too ...

The way I look at it, it doesn't matter what your overall goal is, the important part is to have one in the first place.

See you on the track on Sunday - about 8am ;-D and bring a friend or two

BTW if you want to know what I look like mid workout - http://www.motivateme.info/motivate-me-to-exercise/2012/2/12/sunday-training-we-go-back-to-kokoda.html
