Because I can
Because is an interesting word. Because, the word "because" can be a positive motivator or a negative downer.
I want to be fit and healthy "because" I'm fat, unfit and forty something....
I want to be rich and powerful "because" my family have always been poor.
You see when you start your sentences and thoughts with a positive, but end with a negative, you negate them both and you don't move forwards. You are not really focussed on being rich, fit, healthy or whatever else you say that you want to be, because you are still focussing on the what you currently are....
But if you use the word properly, you can make massive changes to the way that you think and act.
I want to be rich - because I have so many plans. I want to buy myself a house, a house for my folks in the country because they brought me up, cared for me, nurtured me and I want them to have a wonderful place in which they can enjoy life. I want to travel around the world and see all those places i've never seen before. I want to be rich because, money gives me choices.
Of course I could have said I want to buy a house for my folks because they're poor, they live in a flat in the city and the smog is killing them.
See the difference? The "because" in the latter statement is focusing on the negative, and all those bad things that surround you.
The way that you speak is directly influenced by the thoughts that you have. And the thoughts that you have are directly influenced by the beliefs that you hold about yourself. You see if you don't believe you can be rich you will always add the because - followed by what is wrong with your current life.
Now, I am not saying that getting rid of the word "because" out of your vocabulary will be easy, because it is a habit you have gotten into. All I can ask is that you try to get rid of the word. The more you practice the removal of the negative, the easier you will be able to focus on the positives.
