Behind every cloud...
there is a rainbow just waiting to appear, all you have to do is wait for the sun to shine through the rain drops, splitting each tiny droplet into a prism to create the vision that we see.
I love rainbows, I love the fact that you have to have both good (the sun) and bad (rain and usually lots of it) to create them. And isn't that true of life itself. We would never know "good" times if every day looked the same as yesterday. Of course you could tell me that every day is good for you - in which case, fantastic, what are you doing reading this? But we all know that some days are not good. For whatever reason our shoes hurt, the train was late, the guy on our left was talking loudly all the way into work, and we feel the weight of the world on our shoulders. But if we stop and shift our focus a little, like shifting our focus from the rain clouds to the rainbow - we may see that the reason the guy was talking loudly was because he had a hearing aid in his left ear, and he couldn't perceive that he was talking any more loudly than normal.
As i got out of my car this morning, Russel the head of radiology (they have the offices downstairs) walked past and said - fishnet stockings - what's the occassion?
To which I replied - do you need an occassion to have fun in life? After all we only have one chance to live today, and I intend to have fun doing it.
Shift your focus. If your shoes hurt - take them off and walk around the office bare foot. Do something today that makes people stop and ask - why are you smiling? What's the occassion?
Remember you can focus on the rain clouds or you can look for the rainbows.
