Do you have above average enthusiasm?
Do you have energy to burn? Are you always on the go, busily working on your goals, projects and moving them forwards every single day? If that is you, then you are one of the rare kinds of people (about 2% of the population in fact) who have above average enthusiasm for life and what you need to do.
In reality, most people (the rest - namely 98%) don't have above average enthusiasm for every aspect of their lives. In fact some people think that talent alone will get them to where they need to go. Well it may do, but the people who tend to get there quicker, are the ones who are willing to do whatever it takes to get there, and will do it with a smile on their face and a bounce in their step.
As you read this, there will be a few of you shaking your head, muttering "what is this woman on?" well the answer to that lies in the fact that it is 7.30pm on a Tuesday evening and I'm writing to you. OK, you won't get this until Wednesday, but my question is - What do you do at 7.30pm on a Tuesday evening, or any other evening for that matter? You see I will always find time to write, sometimes you don't hear from me, I know that, but sometimes I don't talk to you deliberately - and the reason is because I ask you to do so much that I know it can take several days to catch up on some of the suggestions.
Most of the other "motivational" people I subscribe to (and yes I get most of them) don't ask you to do as much as I do. They offer some great ideas, but they're not the kind of people to say - hey have you made those phone calls yet? Have you done your homework? Have you ... I do. But that's because I am usually on the go most of the time and can't understand why other people do so little every day, and then whinge about what they do do.
And I'm sure that there will be a few of you reading this, nodding - going, yes I understand that, I do really well in some areas, because I enjoy doing them. It's a pleasure to work on ..... because I enjoy it, it makes me feel good. I enjoy speaking to people, passing on my knowledge to people that I will travel half way across the country so that I can see the people finally understand what I've been getting at. I really enjoy spending time in the garden, tending the soil, watching new shoots grow into vibrant plants. I enjoy walking it gets me out into the fresh air, and I get to keep my figure in trim... But, well I also know that I am a bit slack in other areas, and I know that if I slack off in one area, well I usually slack of all of them for a while.
Whatever it is you enjoy doing, you need to start to translate those kinds of feelings into other areas of your life, because people like you, with above average enthusiasm in one (or more) areas can easily translate that into other areas, far more easily than the eeyore's of this world....."Oh I don't know if I can do that"....
So take an inventory of your above average enthusiasm and see where you work best, then translate that into a new area of your life...or why not see if you can't make your above average enthusiasm for a certain aspect, pay for itself....
But I only enjoy walking - then become a dog walker, deliver newspapers, become a personal trainer...there are always options open for people with above average enthusiasm.
With many thoughts on how to get the most out of every day
