Focus on what you do want, not what you don't

If you spend all your time thinking about what you don't want, chances are going to be good you will never get past the complaints so you can decide what you do want.

Instead of saying "I don't want these damn bills" say - "I want more than enough money to pay my bills, and have some left over."
Turn your complaints around - "I don't want this headache" becomes "I want and need a clear head". "I want a stong back" "I want....

So what do you want?

And then write it down....in the positive. Think the words in a positive way.

I want prosperity
I want to eat out once a month with my family
I want to enjoy a holiday once a year to a new destination, one that we've dreamed about going to, but never sat down and worked out the steps we need to take to get there....and these are the places we want to go, this is what we need to do with our budget in order to achieve it.
I want to win the lottery....

OK time to stop right there.

Focus on what you want and what you can achieve. You cannot force somethings. Like you can want your neighbours to have more respect, but unless you go around and ask them to be quiet - nicely of course - then nothing is going to change for you. By all means buy a lottery ticket, but you should always have a backup plan in place for when your numbers don't come rolling through the shute.

Once you start to focus on what you want, you will begin to see the steps unfold in front of you.

So lets get started....start by writing down all the things you don't want in your life.

You need to do that, so you can get rid of the negative influences once and for all. Then I need you to turn each negative statement into a positive one. Use the examples i've given you above. Then throw the negative words and pieces of paper in to the bin. From today you will not focus on the things that you don't want in your life, focus on what you do.

Focusing on what you can do about where you are in your life right now will give you the mental and physical strength to do whatever it is you know you need to do. So you say - but i've got all this debt, my neighbours are horrible, the garden is a mess, i'm overweight, unfit and .....

That's who you were. That's not who you are now. Turn it around:

Today I am going to eat properly
Today I am going to save the money I would have normally spent on coffee and I'm going to put it into a jar for one of those bigger things I need
Today I am going to talk to the bank to see what they can suggest about restructuring my money
Today I am going to go for a walk
Today I am going to weed one garden bed
Today I am going to clean out one cupboard
Today I am going to say good morning to my neighbours
Today I am going to.....

What are you going to do today?
