Improvement
Consider - if you make a 1% improvement on today's performance, over yesterday's performance, and continue to do just 1% more each and every day - by the end of 1 week you will have increased your performance by 7%.
And if you continue with the practice of doing something new / something different / something that moves you forward by just 1% - by the end of the month you will have improved yourself by an amazing 30%.
If that is too hard to comprehend - I can't make a 30% improvement in one month, go back to the thought that you can make a 1% improvement today over yesterday.
What does 1% look like for you? Well we all have our own versions of life, and how much we do each and every day. But I can gurantee that there will be places where you know you can make some changes. It may be that you will drink 3 glasses of water over your normal 2. You know you should drink 8, but by adding a single glass of water to your total, by the end of a week you will be drinking 8 glasses of water every day without any trouble.
Or you want to run a marathon. Well adding half a kilometre to your run ever time you train means you will eventually be able to run the entire 48 kilometres at some point in the future (depending on your level of fitness to start with of course depends on how long this will take you). But if I had asked you to go and run 48 kilometres tomorrow, you'd probably have heart failure at the thought.
Or instead of writing one page of your book you decide to write one and a half today, tomorrow you will write 2 pages. Over the course of a few days and weeks you will improve yourself and your output by a huge amount.
Of course like all things, it takes time and discipline to undertake this kind of progress....but you can if you want to, and know what you want to achieve.
How can you make a 1% improvement today over yesterday?
With Many thoughts,
