Sit down - your resistance is futile
"There's a secret that real writers know that wannabe writers don't and the secret is this: it's not the writing part that's hard. What's hard is sitting down to write." So said Steven Pressfield in "The War of Art"
Such a simple statement that literally took my breath away when i read it.
Why do we resist so hard to do those things that we say that we want to do, know we should do? Why are we making excuses as to why we cannot put in the minutes, the hours or the days that we need to start our projects, let along finish them? Why what is so hard?
One of the many reasons and I don't claim to know all of the answers - just some of them - is this:
We really don't want whatever it is we say we want.
Ok, before the arguments start - answer me this - why do you keep making excuses as to why you haven't worked on your projects, dreams and goals today if it's that important to you? Surely you would make time - if it was THAT important to you?
I've been called many things in my life "miss goody two shoes" for doing all that I do - that from a person who has failed to complete anything in their entire life and then blames the surroundings, the family, the government and anyone else they can think of as to why they couldn't work on their goal today. Me - I sit down and write - and those days that I don't....well those are the days that my inner critic is whispering in my ear telling me that I am no good at what i do. And when the little sprite is doing that, I know that it has won. So today I poked him in the eye with my pen....
We are capable of doing some amazing things - if only we sit down long enough to do them.

I love all what you say, that is why I am here. I dont have somthing specific to say other than just confirming that we humans are created in a way that we are the real superiors, everything else is created in this earth to make life easy for us.In other wards, evreything else is subordinate to our abilities. We can do anything if we just sit and do the work. That is what make difference between rich and poor, fortunate and the unfortunate.
Thanks.. Elle.
