The importance of eccentric behaviour
I have a fascination with word origins, and yes words in general. How they are used, and how misused they have become (in some cases).
Take the word "eccentric" for example. Centric could be described as "normal" by having a specified centre. Excentric then should be anyone or anything that is not nromal, or as someone once said to me "spinning of the axis". Which is interesting because being eccentric is "normal" for those people who by definition are supposedly not.
Which made me then re-consider - that when we are trying to change our "normal" pattern of behaviour for something that could be considered to be alien to us, means we are not spinning on our own "normal" centre of axis, which is why most people fail. They can't stand the "wobble" so they go back to what is ostensibly comfortable.
Normal of course are our habits. Those things that we do without thinking about them too greatly. We just do them.
So, something for you to think about as you continue to change any poor habits you may have for better ones, is that until the new patterns become "normal" to you, you will feel as though you are not on your normal axis. But if you are serious about changing the way your life turns out, then you are going to have to change the centric behaviour for eccentric behaviour for a while only then will you be able to accept change as being a normal part of your growing life.
