Understanding the true value of time
"Procrastination is the grave in which opportunity is buried."
Anon
Time is more precious than money. We can always go to the banks and speak to them about getting more green stuff if we keep finding ourselves up to the neck in debt. But time, well the thing about time is that the only moment we truly know we have is now.
But it's interesting, if you can manage your time effectively you can manage everything else. You see if you knew the true value of your time on this earth, would you spend too long doing the unimportant, the trivial, the complete waste of time and money, or would you be more interested in making sure you did all that you could, now - today?
And it's not just the massive changes that have the biggest impact. Little acts completed regularly multiplied by time equals very big results.
This of course applies to the negative as well as the positive of course.
No exercise today, plus overeating = massive weight gain over 10 or 20 years.
Spending all you earn = not very much in the way of retirement plan
Saving a few dollars a day by not buying lunch = that trip to Egypt. And depending on what you used to spend, that dream could be realised in months rather than years.
Writing a single page every day on your novel can see an average length novel written in about a year.
Massive change can come about through the tiniest decisions, and we are making those tiny decisions on a second by second basis.
So never underestimate the true value of your time.
