Your reputation is your resume
Every day we judge people we see by a number of criteria, what they do and what they say. Of course, we also take a good look at what they "look" like and decide whether or not they have decided to make an effort or not. As we have discussed many times, your appearance can speak far louder than the words that you use.
But today I would ask that you consider the following - assuming that you "look good" and "feel great" it is the other two components that will speak for you. Namely your actions and your verbal communication skills.
You can look like a million dollars, but if the words coming out of your mouth are full of negativities or worse still, abuse, then it doesn't matter what you are wearing does it? Sarcasm, bad jokes, insults, poisonous barbs fill our lives, and it is not a healthy place to be. So if you have the nasty habit of putting people down so that you can feel better about yourself, I would ask quite simply that you try to stop the behaviour, because it is doing immense harm and damage to everyone including yourself.
The other aspect for today are your actions. A lack lustre performance shows. If you can barely get out of bed in the morning, struggle into work, hating every single minute of the job that you do - you are hardly likely to perform at your best are you? Consider that everything you do has your name on it, would you say you would be proud knowing that, or would you be cringeing with embarrasment at the thought?
Remember you may hate your job, think it is the most boring position in the entire world, but it gives you endless opportunities to hone your skills whilst you look for something better. But what would your new employer say if they heard you bad mouthing the old one? Or found out that you didn't work as well as you could have or should have, would they still be happy to employ you?
Remember your reputation is your resume. What would it say on yours?
"In a world full of people, only some want to fly isn't that crazy"
