Sporting Injuries: Supplements
I had a choice this morning, do I get up and dye my hair or go for a walk? I'm sorry to say, but the hair dye won. Genetics and age are finally catching up with me. I suppose I should be grateful, mum had to start dying her hair when she was in her mid 20's - I've made it to 43 years and 361 days before admitting defeat and dying my hair for something other than fun reasons.
And the other reason I've opted for hair dye over exercise is quite simple - my 15km walk on Saturday morning, and my 4km walk yesterday morning has given my right knee something to complain about and I have had to add Glucosamine and Chondritin to my list of supplements and vitamins I take. Imagine then my horror / amazement when I opened the container to find the darn stuff was granules - and not the usual tablet, which meant of course I had to read the label - properly. I know I should have read it properly in the first place - but anyway - a tsp of sterrf twice a day - but excess consumption may have a laxative effect - you're absolutely right - it does give me the shits to think my body is no longer able to do what I want it to do without it hurting badly for days afterwards.
Too many sporting injuries over the years. Too many times I've carried on when I should have stopped and given the injury a chance to heal properly - but with age sometimes comes wisdom. So I have added the extra supplement to the diet and have put on a long skirt to cover up the knee brace. Well I may not have gone "for a walk" today, but I shall be doing incedental exercise throughout the course of my day, so thought it prudent to take the precautionary measure.
But getting up at 5.45 this morning to do my hair also gave me time to do other things. As my hair "took" I carried on cleaning out my closet. Too many things that no longer fit as they should. These items have been put into the spare room closet - which proves to me I need to get my knee back on track so I can up the exercise and lose the size that has crept up on me without me knowing. So it's also time to cut out the excess carbs again too, which also goes to remind me that the word "diet" should be replace by the word "lifestyle."
