Dying to exercise

I am always trying to find new ways to motivate myself to exercise, and the best way I have come across so far is this:

Find something you enjoy doing - then it doesn't seem like it's something extra you have to do, it's just part of your normal life.

However, I am a great believer in mixing it up. Different kinds of exercise works different muscle groups, or the same muscles in different ways. Walking is a great example, add in some steps or a hill or two and you increase the intensity and sometimes the difficulty - as you will see.

This weekend I took my camera with me and took a series of photographs and some video.

You can view the pictures - Jacobs Ladder and the Kokoda Track Steps (Kings Park) here

Or you can watch the video - be warned though, there is quite a lot of heavy breathing involved.

thank for up loading this video, and trust me .... i am so glad i found ur site,
i wait for your emails to inspire me... and i want to say a big thank you, i am too fat to join a health club, but more to the point i it costs to much and you need more time to get there, and then get back so i bought myself a rowing machine.
I HATE rowing... i was living next to a exercise fanatic ...who has just finished cyclying from London to Scotland on a bike...and he had a rowing machine so he got me started. and after a few months, ok so i fell off "the excercise plan" several times....but i am still doing it.
I love to dance but my husband will not allow me to go out dancing the night away in a club or bar ...cos the culture here does not permit it. so i am rowing... rowing!!!!
..on days i feel lazy i re-read old mails you sent me to motivate me.and they truley do help me....
sometimes one just needs a better perspective on how to acheive your goals. and your emails give me hope that i can do it I want to loose 100 pounds. and i am trying and with ur emails it just makes my life a bit better as i now know i am not the only one who can be lazy. SO THANK YOU XX

Hi Honey
Wow, congratulations on your motivation to exercise - well done, I am very impressed.

I love to dance too, but won't go on my own - so when everyone goes out the house I turn on the stereo and I dance to my heart's content. Great exercise, but also makes me feel good too.

Email me at elle@motivateme.info - I want to send you something

Huzzah! Congratulations to you on a job well done, Elle! That's most certainly "walking the walk"... ;-)
And although I've never been to your country (would LOVE to someday), i have to say Perth certainly looks gorgeous!
I hope you don't mind my emails, Elle; it's just so much fun to communicate with such a (have to say it) motivated soul such as you, literally half way around the world!
Salut,
Keith
