2.5 Milestones this week

Today I can officially say I am never going back to being "big" I am over this yo-yo dieting I have lumbered myself with for most of my life. I like being thinner, not skinny by any stretch of the imagination - just the health benefits are enormous.

But what of the milestones:

1. I have lost over 10% of my January 1st 2011 starting body weight

2. I weighed in at 80.6 kilos this morning - not quite under the 80 mark, but nonetheless I cannot remember the last time I saw 80 kilos on the scale. I do want to lose both another 10% and around 10 kilos, hoping that this will finally drop my body fat measurements into the healthy zone... I am longing for a flat stomach. Now, bear in mind I am 5'8" so quite tall for a female and 70 kilos is in the healthy range for my height... compete with yourself, no-one else.

2.5 my blood pressure is down. Remember those health benefits I spoke about earlier. Well my cholesterol and fasting blood sugar was fine before I started. My blood pressure was a little high - 125/87 (anything over /90 and the doctors are talking tablets!!) anyway it is now down to 120/80 and my eyes are clear.

So - next steps? Well as promised I have re-joined the next challenge at the gym. Keeps me honest.

I have added in one cheat meal per week and I have taken out about half the alcohol I used to drink out of my diet. So instead of having a glass of wine with dinner, I now don't - at least 4 x per week.

I have thrown away all but 1 size 16 dress, partly because it is fitted and it will not look silly when I lose a few more kilos.

To push myself as hard as I can, to mix up the training - a lot, so my mind and body doesn't get used to the same level of intensity. And to enjoy the process of change. So much has happened, I can see Abs, and I have inspired a few people around me to drop a bit of weight too.

How about you?
