Limiting beliefs can cause plateau-tudes

Can learning to live with your limiting beliefs help you succeed?

Focus on what you want and you will achieve great things. Focus on what you don’t want and guess what, that too will manifest in your life. Therefore it would make sense to focus on the positive rather than the negative aspects of your character and your behaviours. Well it does to me at any rate.

Be aware of your limiting beliefs and behaviours, but whatever you do, don’t let them stop you from doing what you want to do. As we have discussed we are all afraid of many things, it’s whether we allow them to stop us being the best we can be or not that determines where we end up in this life. Be aware that they are there, but do not focus your energy and your thoughts on them otherwise they will start to reappear in your life.

It is easy to slide down the mountainside little by little without us realising that the view has changed too much. We reach a plateau in our development and we have a choice, we can either let past behaviours dictate our next steps or we can find a way around the current problem.

And it comes back to motives and the reasons why we are doing something. If we are happy with our current position, we can wait a while whilst we figure out what it is we should be doing next. Or we can go back to our plan and see where we have deviated from it. More often than not, we can tell at a glance what we are now doing that was different when things were working out for us and we can start to re-introduce the behaviours that will allow us to move onwards again.

However, if the plan isn’t working as well as we had hoped it may just mean that the plan wasn’t as good as it could have been so it may be time to make some changes. So when you hit the next plateau, remember it is your attitude that will make all the difference.
