The Secret: If something sounds too good to be true...
If something sounds too good to be true, then it usually is. Having watched a copy of "the Secret" I am amazed at how few of the "teachers" actually expect their students to do anything other than visualise the life they want. They call it the Law of Attraction. Few of them offer any concrete suggestions as to how to get out of debt/lose weight/build a better business/better relationship....just a passing comment here and there. Ask and you shall receive etc etc.
Whilst I have asked you to visualise the kind of life you would like to live. I also expect you to do something to realise those dreams, goals and ambitions. Do you want to lose weight - well visualising a better, healthier body is a great start, but unless you stop stuffing your mouth with food your body doesn't need, and exercising on a very regular basis, then you are not going to get thinner. No you cannot think yourself thin.
If you want to build a better business then you are going to have to make the phone calls, find a product/service that people want to buy and would refer their friends to buy also. If you want a better relationship you are going to have to work at it, yes it starts with a thought, but you can't just sit there smiling - they're going to think you're mad.
It starts with a thought, it starts with an emotion that you want a better life for yourself and your family and once that emotion has died down, then it comes to persistence and patience. If you're starting from zero in the bank and you have a mountain of debt - then it's going to take a while to get the million - unless you have an elderly relative who is also rich and is willing to leave you their fortune, but you could be waiting a very long time. Most people are willing to wait for someone else to pull them out of the mire. Me I expect you to ask questions - how can I get more money, what can I do differently, what should I stop spending my money on? And then I expect you to act on the answers that you receive. And yes it will sometimes take time and lots of patience.
