Ways to Motivate Teenagers and Students > Are you a good student?
When you receive an assignment do you work on it straight away? Or do you leave it to the last minute?

Well it's a few years since i was at uni, but if i enjoyed the subject i'd tend to work on it a bit quicker than if it was a topic I didn't like so much. Consequently I was usually doing last minute panic stuff to get them in...which in hindsight probably wasn't a good thing - but i passed - eventually.

That the problem I'm currently facing. I only have 4 subjects left to complete my studies, but it's the 4 that I've been failling al the time and don't like at all. I can't get myself motivated to do them and will be writing exams for the last time, and failing them now will stop my studies here and I can't complete. What to do?

For most procrastinating students, including me, it's not that the subject isn't interesting enough, or they're not aware of the incentive of completing that causes the problem. For me, I am perfectly aware of the fact that I have two weeks left to write about 80 pages, and none of the stuff are uninteresting, and I will graduate smoothly if I do, and that is the one founding block for my successful life. I won't go on describing my dreams and aspirations. The problem is that, there are two whole weeks, and I know I'll have time to do them, and I'm capable of doing them quickly if I sat down. But, I end up in a rush anyways. I just can't move right now. Instead, I'm posting comments on a website that seeks to stop procrastination...OK, I'm done. Back to coding!

When i first started college, i was very excited and organized and would start my work immediately and if possible do some assignments ahead of time. Now that i am in my second year and tired, i am not so much as motivated to do my work as asap. I do tend to put it off to the last minute or even a day late.

So why are you tired? Are you bored with the course? Have you taken on too much? Are you working as well as studying? Do you run a home as well as all of the above. Acknowledging why you are tied can be a good first step in getting through to the issue and then being able to move forwards. Then it may just be you need a holiday - everything is balance don't forget you need to recharge your own batteries too you know.
