Yahoo mail problems = the daily dose ezine is being delayed

Over the last week or so, Yahoo mail appears to have gone "AWOL". I have a personal Yahoo account and have had it since 1996, and as far as I can remember it has never and I mean NEVER had this kind of problem.

Basically, every message I send to a Yahoo mail account is bouncing back to me as "message temporarily deferred". It's frustrating because I can't tell genuine bounces from Yahoo's can't be bothered to deliver ones unless I open every message.

So - what can we do? Well if you have an alternative email address and would like to move from Yahoo so that your messages get through, can you send me an email to elle@motivateme.info with Change Yahoo in the subject line and your new address and your old yahoo one within the body of the message.  That will make it easier for me to spot amongst all the other detrius.

In the meantime I shall continue to send the daily dose out - almost on a daily basis. By the way I use an email program called groupwise to handle the mailings.  Not bad, a bit clunky in places, but otherwise OK, and more importantly it can handle the hundreds of messages i need to send out each day.

As a matter of interest, when the website began 2 years ago, we started with a single reader to the Daily Dose of Motivational Medicine. As we climbed through the Google ranks (we're number 1 now BTW) more people started to join the readership and now have a growing community of regular readers, which currently stands at 250 people (direct subscribes as opposed to feed digest subscribers). It may not sound a lot, compared to the mega lists of people touted by some others in the industry, but I am overjoyed with the number. And pleased to know that we are beginning to make a difference to people's lives.

Speak soon.
