Adding insult to insult

Why do organisations assume all you want is a refund, or something for nothing when you offer feedback, or complain about a service?

Is respect too much to ask for?

"the staff concerned dispute your version of their sincerity, it is the impression they left you with that matters, no matter how sincere they thought they were being" 

"I considered offering you a complimentary voucher...  At a minimum, I wish to send a cheque to you as a refund (could you please forward through your postal details) for an experience you did not receive"....


I said thanks but no thanks. That wasn't why I sent the message. But some people don't seem to understand that.
