It's been one of those days today

Have you ever had that...you decide you're going to do a job - something that you've been putting off for some time, then when you start you end up creating more work than you'd expected?

It happened to me again today. I decided that I would buy some roof insulation and finish the job I had started a while back. Of course having a fiesta means that I can only get a couple of bags in the car at any one time, which is a pain. But we'll get around that. Of course I couldn't find a light, extension cord or get the entire bag of insulation through the gap in the roof space on my own...needed a push while someone pulled the darn thing upwards. So I did it the longer way...up and down the steps, sling the batts down the roof, work from front to back. Having completed the first set of bags, I had to get back down from the roof - and ended up taking the cornice off with my back...haven't inspected the damage yet, but the roof is bad  and if my back is as sore as it feels, shall have a nasty bruise or two happening. Pulled my left shoulder blade too. But not to be put off - decided that if I was going to make a mess then I might as well continue, so went back for a second set of bags...well I am now more than half way finished that particular job...another 6 or 7 bags and it will be "job done"....then I'll fix the ceiling.

But it's been one of those days today. The vacuum cleaner decided to chuck a sad and refused to suck, so ended up taking that to pieces...Having borrowed my sons lamp - yes i ventured in the dark zone and - then spent the next hour fishiing things off the floor to plug the damn thing back in. Which of course created washing - can't win really. Eventually though the house has started to look less like a toxic waste dump and more like a proper house again. But enough really is enough for today - it is a day off after all. Time to write. TTFN
